Dr. Nostuabuk: on Interception

It has been awhile since I attended an interception. My last interception was hosted by the Duc de Bury during a spring equinox. He went through considerable expense, as an inception can only take place in a house built within a house. Otherwise one would not have the experience of containment without the least sense of imprisonment. The outer structure was built of red stone in flamboyant style. Airy. The inner structure was quite cleverly concealed. It had bullseyes for windows. Very post-moyen! The Duc, as host, was dressed, according to protocoll, in his best armour. His wife the Duchesse, Dité de Milo, awaited us in the inner hall. She was dressed in the most luxurious of silks. I still dream of the repast we were served.

A word of advice, should you ever be invited to an interception, wear your most comfortable shoes, you will be on your feet for a very long time. You wouldn’t believe how many steps one climbs in the course of an interception.

  1. Dear Dr. No.,

Do you speak here of the word “inception” or the word “interception”?
As I understand these two words have totally different meanings.
As far as I know, an Inception is an opening, while an Interception is an obstruction or the act of seizing and locking in.

    Opposites, no?

    Take care,
    🙂

  2. Dear CareBear,
I think Dr. N. is speaking about what is usually understood as interception. Perhaps this should be changed. No?
    Cheers,
    Thomas

  3. Dear Thomas,

    Thank you. 🙂

What we seem to have here is a Bull, swallowed alive and wholly by a lamb, without leaving any impression whatsoever, just like the seven obese cows swallowed by the seven gaunt cows in King Pharaoh’s dream, Genesis 41.

“And the thin and gaunt cows ate up the first seven fat cows,
but when they had eaten them no one would have known that they had eaten them, for they were still as gaunt as at the beginning. Then I awoke.”

Is the bull incepted or is it intercepted.

Please explain. I’m having a hard time trying to understand why interception should be changed to inception.

    Thanks in advance,
    🙂

  4. Dear CareBear,

After consultation with Dr, N. It has been decided to correct inception to interception. Of course what Dr. N. is playfully refering too is a special sort of reception (as in gathering).

Of course inception has to do with opening or beginning. Sorry for the confusion. 🙂

    Thomas
