Beyond seven mountains
living in a cave,
are some giants,
and a tiny knave.
Promoted.
Demoted.
With them one is never sure.
They haven’t a meaning.
They haven’t a home.
They are never friendly.
They are best left alone.

Hi Thomas :0)
Your riddles are getting addictive! I think it is easy too, but as I usually take a parallax view to the majority I could be wrong
“Beyond seven mountains”
~~CarO ~~ Climb up over each of the Seven of the Zodiacal Sign cusps
“living in a cave”,
~~CarO ~~ Hidden from view reflecting no light
“are some giants”,
~~ CarO ~~ Most of the spaces of ‘degrees of Azemene’ are several degrees wide.
and a tiny knave.
~~CarO~~ Some sources only give one degree of 18* Scorpio for Scorpio. (Other sources give 28* also)
”Promoted”.
~~CarO~~ Some sources such as Rhetorius and Bonatti give great credence to these degrees.
”Demoted.
With them one is never sure.”
~~ CarO ~~ more recent authorities like Lilly give them, but never use them: others more recent still dismiss them as irrelevant.
“They haven’t a meaning”.
~~CarO ~~ the actual degree in itself is meaningless unless a planet hits it. And then it has no specific meaning except that it debilitates by congenital weakness.
”They haven’t a home”.
~~CarO ~~ Odd. The degree itself ‘homes’ them, so maybe I am wrong?
”They are never friendly”.
~~CarO ~~
“Mutilated or Lame” degrees are by implication unfriendly!
”They are best left alone.”
Quite!
P.S.
I suppose I should have mentioned that only 7 Zodiacal Signs contain the Azimene degrees!
This is according to Guido Bonatti: Chapter XLV11 “On the Azemene Degrees” who says: (and NB these are ‘ordinal’ degrees)
Taurus: 6; 7; 8; 9; 10.
Cancer: 9;10;11;12;13;14;15
Leo: 18;27;28;
Scorpio: 19; 28;
Sagittarius: 1;7;8;18;19.
Capricorn: 26;27;28;29.
Aquarius:18;19
In haste

Dear CarO,
Thank you for your most informative solution on the Azemene Degrees.
Once again I am almost convinced that maybe I don’t know the answer after all! 😉
Yes, the clue about “not having a home” doesn’t quite fit your explanation, which means, back to the drawing board.
with warmest regards,
Thomas
PS Don’t tell me that riddle-solving is a 12th house activity. 🙂
Hi Thomas
(Thomas ) Yes, the clue about “not having a home” doesn’t quite fit your explanation, which means, back to the drawing board.
~~ CarO ~~ Bother! I was hoping you had slipped up on that clue
(Thomas) Don’t tell me that riddle-solving is a 12th house activity
~~ CarO ~~ No. the 5th of ‘pleasure, delight and merriment’ I would say :0)
Love
CarO
Dear CarO,
Dr. Nostuabuk, is in entire agreement with you! 😉
best wishes,
Thomas
