Riddle 3: answer

We are the primary and secondary directions.

Do you want to know the way?
Ask us.

Ask us for directions. Indirect reference.
Same word. Different meaning.

Plenty of time or nay?
Ask us.

Anyone who has ever calculated primary directions by hand will know what I mean.
You can spend hours and hours and hours…
Secondary directions are much simpler and far less time consuming.

I look at the sphere,

With primary directions you calculate the right ascension and the oblique ascension.
You are looking at the celestial sphere.

My brother at the year.
Secondary directions go the easy way. A day for a year.

Ask us.
Directions!

PS so that you all can have a quiet Sunday 🙂
The next riddle will be posted tomorrow. 😉
